About the Role:

A unique opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate LOTE/AUSLAN educator to join our small, well-resourced Catholic Primary School near Caroline Springs. As a full-time Primary LOTE teacher, you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students, fostering a love for language and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop engaging and age-appropriate curriculum plans that align with the Victorian Curriculum for LOTE Primary/Secondary levels.
  • Deliver effective and interactive LOTE instruction, focusing on vocabulary, pronunciation, and language structures.
  • Introduce aspects of a specific LOTE culture into lessons through age-appropriate activities, stories, and projects to foster cultural awareness.
  • Design assessments to evaluate language acquisition and provide constructive feedback to students.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate language and culture into broader educational themes and projects.
  • Stay informed about developments in language education, attend workshops, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and methodologies.

Requirements:

  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
  • Current VIT registration or recent application.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (minimum 4-year degree).
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary in Australia.
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years.
  • An understanding and support of Catholic values.
