Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Support Engineer to join our Transmission Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of transmission projects and customer connections onto the SSE Transmission Network.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the Transmission Operations team to deliver transmission projects and customer connections safely and efficiently.
  2. Ensure compliance with relevant codes of practice, technical and quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  3. Develop and implement commissioning plans to ensure projects are delivered to the required technical and quality standards.
  4. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including National Grid System Operator, developers, and other internal teams, to ensure effective project delivery.
  5. Chair commissioning panel meetings and project safety reviews to ensure safety and quality are prioritized.

Requirements

  1. Electrical engineering degree or relevant expertise with a sound knowledge of electrical power systems and operating standards.
  2. Experience in the electricity transmission industry, with strong commissioning, engineering, and construction knowledge.
  3. Good understanding of STC Codes of Practice, BETTA process, outage planning, system planning, and other relevant industry standards.
  4. Excellent people management and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  5. Ability to travel extensively throughout the SSE Transmission Network.
