Job Title: Chef/Cook/Restaurant Manager

Burgery Bar Pty Ltd ATF Burgery Bar Unit Trust t/a Burgery Bar is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef/Cook/Restaurant Manager to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to lead our kitchen team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our restaurant. The successful candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation and Presentation: Prepare and present high-quality food to our customers, ensuring that all dishes meet our standards of taste, presentation, and consistency.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of our kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Menu Planning and Development: Collaborate with our Restaurant Manager to plan and develop new recipes and menus, taking into account seasonal ingredient availability, customer preferences, and menu pricing.
  • Cost Control: Provide costings for new menu items and monitor food costs to ensure that they are within budget.
  • Inventory Management: Check the quantity and quality of received products to ensure that they meet our standards and are as ordered.
  • Health and Safety: Inspect equipment, work areas, and general supplies to ensure that they meet established health and safety standards.
  • Training and Development: Instruct and train other kitchen workers in the preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
  • Sanitation and Hygiene: Monitor and enforce sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
  • Production Scheduling: Determine production schedules and staff requirements to ensure timely delivery of services.
  • Recruitment and Induction: Assist in the recruitment and induction of kitchen staff.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Discuss with the Restaurant Manager any equipment purchases and repairs required.
  • Customer Service: Meet with customers to discuss menus for special occasions such as weddings, parties, and banquets.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant AQF Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role, or 2 years of experience with a relevant qualification.
