Fast paced mining environment seeking skilled tradesperson to join the maintenance team as an Underground HD Fitter.

About The Role

This is a great opportunity for those with extensive experience in working on heavy machinery and equipment. As an Underground HD Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring that all mobile equipment is serviced and maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain high level of housekeeping in workshop and working areas at all times.
  • Carry out scheduled servicing to mobile equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with procedures, regulations, and relevant service sheets.
  • Utilize your skills and experience to create minimum downtime on machinery.
  • Ensure correct recording and reporting of maintenance is achieved.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop national trades personnel.
  • Report all equipment faults to the Maintenance Foreman for scheduling into the workshop weekly planning.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A strong background working with latest generation SANDVIK, CAT, and Atlas underground mobile equipment and associated automation systems.
  • At least 5 years post-apprenticeship experience working within the underground mining industry on large mobile equipment.
  • Good knowledge of loader and truck maintenance.
  • Competence in Auto Electrics, Hydraulic Circuit Schematics, and Diesel engine maintenance.
  • An International Drivers License.
