Brighton Council is a dynamic community in Tasmania, seeking a collaborative executive to join our senior management team as a Director of Development Services.

Job Description

We are looking for a leader of change who can work across the whole council in the development and implementation of strategic and corporate projects such as urban planning, placemaking, open space, and housing strategies. The successful candidate will ensure services are provided within budget and comply with relevant statutory obligations, regulations, codes, guidelines, and Council policies and procedures.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, including a private use vehicle and 15% superannuation. A negotiable salary package will be discussed with the successful applicant based on qualifications and experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in strategic planning and leadership within development services. They must be able to demonstrate adaptability and a proactive approach in a changing environment, showing a willingness to innovate and challenge existing practices and processes. High-level thinking and problem-solving skills, along with strong political acumen, are essential attributes for success in this role.
