The Role

We are currently seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our Pre-Contracts team. This full-time permanent position will be located at our Head Office and is responsible for:

  • Developing Accurate Estimates: Creating detailed estimates and quotes that are accurate, complete, and on time.
  • Producing Fixed Pricing: Developing fixed lump sum pricing following a formal review and approval process prior to submission.
  • Collating Electrical Material Take-Offs: Accurately collating electrical material take-offs with the ability to evaluate, identify scope anomalies, and complexities through simple and complex drawings.
  • Liaising with Suppliers and Subcontractors: Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and undertaking evaluations for suitability.
  • Working with Technical Leads: Working closely with Technical Leads to compile construction methodologies, construction schedules, and tender deliverable documentation.
  • Site Inspections and Meetings: Attending occasional site inspections as required and participating in meetings.

About You

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Electrical Site Experience: Electrical site experience in mining is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of Electrical and Instrumentation Construction: Understanding of electrical and instrumentation construction to allow building of first principle and norms-based estimates.
  • Project Delivery Experience: Experience working for a project delivery contractor on mining and resources projects.
  • Task Prioritization and Execution: Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Problem Solving and Decision-Making: Well-developed problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Microsoft Suite Proficiency: Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite of applications and/or use of previous estimating software packages (preferred but not essential).
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and understanding of project/execution requirements.
