About the Role

We are seeking suitably qualified English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) teachers to deliver EAL/D programs in our Intensive English Centre and General and Foundation EAL/D courses to mainstream Year 11 and 12 students.

The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic team that is engaged in delivering rich and challenging educational programs to a diverse student cohort. A strategic, goal-focussed and evidence-based approach to teaching that engages, supports, and challenges young people to be independent learners and critical thinkers is highly desirable.

A diverse range of inclusive teaching strategies is essential, as is the ability to work effectively in and across teams. The capacity to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships that optimise student wellbeing, learning and operational efficacy and outcomes is also important.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality EAL/D programs to students in the Intensive English Centre and General and Foundation EAL/D courses to mainstream Year 11 and 12 students.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement engaging and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before starting.
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before starting.
