In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating plant design and piping work on large projects with specialized requirements. You will optimize facility layout based on diagrams, client needs, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate and apply standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
- Plan plant and piping layouts and prepare detailed plant and piping designs and drawings for structures and portions of major plants.
- Prepare plant design and piping designs and construction drawings using 2-D / 3-D computer aided design (CAD), presentation graphics, and plant design models and codes.
- Examine and analyze pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME code compliance.
- Optimize facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams, client requirements, current technology, and operational and maintenance requirements.
- Participate in reviews and recommend approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements.
Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Strong technical knowledge of construction piping installation, hydrotesting, and pneumatic pipe testing.
Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including TEAMWorks, Fighter Tools, INFOWorks, or Aconex, BPS or DSCS, PTR or Unifier, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools used on Bechtel projects.
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards is required.
Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
