Alma Nove Fine Dining Sommelier Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sommelier to join our team at Alma Nove, the newest fine dining spot on Manly beach. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional wine service to our guests, managing our wine list, and contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain our wine list, including wine selection, ordering, and inventory management;
  • Provide exceptional wine service to guests, including wine pairing recommendations and wine education;
  • Assist with wine events and promotions, including wine tastings and wine dinners;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of wine-related marketing initiatives;
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to create wine-paired menus and specials;
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of wine, including wine regions, grape varieties, and wine-making techniques;
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in wine and hospitality.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Sommelier in a fine dining restaurant;
  • Completed Sommelier Australia accredited education program, such as the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and/or the Court of Master Sommeliers education program;
  • Strong knowledge of wine, including wine regions, grape varieties, and wine-making techniques;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively;
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
