The Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Practice Development Specialist to join our team for a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the OTA National Workforce Project, developing and delivering contemporary advisory services related to the occupational therapy profession, and contributing to the delivery of programs that meet the current and emerging needs of the profession.

Key Responsibilities
  • Practice Advisory: Provide clinical content, input, and review to ensure services across the organisation are evidence-based and clinically sound.
  • Project Delivery: Support the development and implementation of practice quality standards, governance, processes, and tools.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Review existing processes, policies, and procedures to contribute to continuous improvements and best practices.
  • Stakeholder Relationships & Member Engagement: Collaborate with other departments within OTA to support knowledge transfer processes.
  • Professional Representation: Ensure OTA services are evidence-based, underpinned by robust clinical governance, quality, and safety principles.
  • Budget Management: Prepare reports to enable effective decision-making and planning.
Requirements
  • A Registered Occupational Therapist with AHPRA registration.
  • An excellent understanding of AHPRA practice standards, professional practice, and development matters.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the occupational therapy profession.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in occupational therapy.
  • Experience in educational program development, practice guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in leading evidence-based quality improvement activities.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Capacity to work independently and build/maintain effective working relationships.
