Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced chef to join our team in a remote oil and gas camp in Queensland. As a FIFO (Fly-In Fly-Out) chef, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to field staff working in the bush.

About the Role

You will work independently, reporting directly to the Camp Manager, and be responsible for managing the kitchen solo - prep, cook, clean, and assist with ordering supplies. You will also need to follow strict food safety and HSE procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals to field staff
  • Manage the kitchen, including ordering supplies and maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Follow strict food safety and HSE procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service to camp residents
  • Pitch in with laundry, cleaning, and meal transport as needed
Requirements
  • Commercial cookery or food safety qualifications
  • Manual Driver's Licence
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug & alcohol screening
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • National Police Clearance
  • Flexibility to work night shifts and extended periods away from home
