Job Title: Data Strategist for STEM Education

The role of a Data Strategist in shaping the future of STEM education through advanced data strategies cannot be overstated.

  • Collaborate with diverse teams and partners to develop cutting-edge capabilities, standards, and tools for leveraging data to enhance STEM education outcomes nationwide.
  • Drive impactful insights that influence STEM learning on a large scale.
  • Work closely with CSIRO Education and Outreach staff and partners in the STEM education ecosystem to improve ways of sourcing, generating, analysing, and using data to improve STEM education outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide training and support to stakeholders on data-related matters, promoting data literacy within STEM education organisations effectively.
  • Contribute data expertise to the design, delivery, and analysis of a longitudinal student data system for better outcomes.
  • Collect and organise existing educational data, processes, and tools from various sources (internal and external) for the benefit of the STEM education ecosystem as a whole.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to data privacy regulations while handling sensitive information if required.

This is a part-time opportunity requiring strong stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with multiple teams to achieve shared objectives including capability-building, training, and identifying needs.

Requirements
  • Relevant diploma or advanced degree or equivalent relevant work experience in data science or social science with a focus on data analysis is necessary.
  • Ability to manage complex projects with diverse stakeholders is vital.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a range of stakeholders to achieve shared goals is essential.
