High-Performance Rowing Coach Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Elite Rowing Coach to lead and elevate our elite rowing program.

The Role

As the High-Performance Rowing Coach, you will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive training programs for our elite rowers. You will lead and inspire our athletes to reach their full potential, both individually and as a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute high-performance training programs tailored to the needs of individual athletes and the team.
  • Provide expert coaching and feedback to athletes to improve their technical skills and performance.
  • Monitor and analyze athletes' progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures.
  • Coordinate and oversee training sessions, camps, and competition schedules.
  • Collaborate with support staff, including strength and conditioning coaches and sports scientists, to optimize athletes' physical and mental preparation.
  • Mentor and motivate athletes, instilling a strong work ethic and commitment to success.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes camaraderie and sportsmanship.
  • Run Pennant Season in conjunction with nominated Club Season Head Coach, including club & athlete development, Club participation & growth.
  • Take lead role in technical development of club coaches, including coach education sessions, Development of coach training/development plans, End of season reviews.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a High-Performance Rowing Coach with a successful track record of coaching athletes to achieve exceptional results.
  • Recognized coaching qualifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of rowing techniques, training methodologies, and race strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with athletes, coaching staff, and club officials.
  • Ability to analyze performance data and use it to inform training decisions.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to inspire and motivate athletes.
