Pain Management Specialist Lead

At Latrobe Regional Health, we are seeking an experienced Pain Management Specialist to lead our anaesthetic service. This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity based in Gippsland, Victoria.
Our hospital has a long-term partnership with Alfred Health to deliver quality and safe care for the Gippsland community. As part of this partnership, we are developing and advancing our anaesthetic service to enhance patient outcomes.

We are located 150 km east of Melbourne, and we offer a range of specialist health services, including hospital-based, sub-acute, and mental health services. Our new expansion project is nearing completion, offering improved facilities and increased capacity.
About the RoleAs a Pain Management Specialist Lead, you will participate actively in the effective function of the department and co-operate with other members in the provision of patient care. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical expertise and excellent service in anaesthesia and perioperative medicine
- Supervising junior medical and other relevant staff within the Unit/ Department
- Supporting Latrobe Regional Health's quality, monitoring and improvement initiatives
- Supporting LRH teaching, research and clinical governance programs
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Be a legally qualified medical practitioner, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Hold Fellowship of the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (or eligible for fellowship via the recognition of equivalent training pathway)
- Meet LRH requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in anaesthesia
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Have experience in teaching and research
- Have experience in Obstetric anaesthesia, paediatric anaesthesia, and trauma

The estimated annual salary for this role is $250,000-$300,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
