Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Lawyer to join our dynamic team. In this key role, you will provide comprehensive legal support and guidance to ensure our company enters into sound and responsible commercial agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in legal research and analysis to support decision-making processes and provide guidance on various legal issues.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalise legal documents, contracts, and agreements, including lease agreements, purchase agreements, and other transactional documents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, and provide guidance to the organization on legal and regulatory matters.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide legal advice and support in relation to commercial activities.
- Manage and monitor ongoing legal cases and disputes, working closely with external counsel as required.
- Manage a panel of legal organisations and manage their hours and activities in order to ensure timely and cost effective advice to the business.
- Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a corporate lawyer or in a similar legal role
- Strong understanding of commercial law and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal professionals.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools as well as MS Office applications
