About the Role

As our Senior Civil Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in pricing and evaluating a diverse portfolio of mining and resources infrastructure tenders. You will be at the forefront of estimating for a range of projects, including:

  • Large Bulk Earthworks projects with complex mass hauls
  • Water Storage Dam and Tailings Dam construction
  • Bridges, Bebo Arch, and major concrete structures
  • Water Pipelines and large Drainage structures
  • Wind Farm earthworks and concrete footings
  • Heavy Vehicle Haul Road construction
  • Light Vehicle Road construction
  • DTMR and TfNSW highway and local road upgrades
  • Rehabilitation, clearing, and stripping projects

Key Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in Mining Infrastructure or large Civil Construction projects
  • Solid background in bulk earthworks, mass hauls, and a detailed understanding of the production limits of large earthworks plant including 793 Trucks, 360t Excavators, 657 Scrapers, and D11 Dozers
  • Understanding of FIFO and DIDO projects with complex logistics arrangements
  • Ability to write large bulk earthworks, roadworks, and pipeline methodologies
  • Strong background in first principles estimating
  • Capability in developing and evaluating subcontractor packages
  • Knowledge of DTMR or TfNSW Specifications is desirable
  • Ability to plan and schedule using MS Project, Primavera P6 or similar tools
  • Experience with Expert Estimating software is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Your Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing tender documentation and addressing queries to the client
  • Attending client meetings with the ability for short term travel interstate
  • Building up tender prices from first principles based on scope of works, plans, specifications, and schedules
  • Participating in pre-and post-tender reviews and client meetings
  • Producing comprehensive tender reports in preparation for tender handover
