The Role

  • This Defence Project Coordinator role plays a critical part in contributing to the success of the business through project coordination, contract administration, budget management, and resource allocation.
  • The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in a Contract Administration or Project Engineer role in the construction industry, with specific defence knowledge highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager and Site Manager by establishing, maintaining, and ensuring compliance with Baseline System Standards across projects.
  • Provide contract administration assistance to the Project Manager.
  • Manage project budgets and cost reporting.
  • Actively contribute to all phases of a project, from tender to close, to support the team.
  • Take responsibility for resources engaged in projects and liaise with senior management to ensure projects are appropriately resourced.
  • Manage formal project deliverables in line with system standards and project outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Contract Administration or Project Engineer role in the construction industry (Defence-specific experience highly regarded).
  • A strong ability to work as part of a diverse and multicultural team.
  • A passion for construction with attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and accept new challenges and skill sets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or Cert IV in Building and Construction (advantageous).
  • Australian citizenship for access to Defence Bases.
  • Clean criminal record.
  • Positive 'can-do' attitude and team player mindset.
