IT Support Technician Job Description

We are seeking an IT Support Technician to administer and maintain the school's IT infrastructure. This includes servers, networks, and desktop computers. The successful candidate will provide technical support to staff and students with a variety of IT issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain the school's IT infrastructure
  • Provide technical support to staff and students
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems
  • Install and configure new hardware and software
  • Maintain IT documentation
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience in an educational setting, along with knowledge of wireless deployment and Department initiatives
  • Previous experience with planning, deployment and management of 1 to 1 user/devices in a high quality school environment
  • Able to plan and run ICT professional development sessions and work collaboratively with Schools' ICT Management, teaching and learning teams
  • Innovative and proactive approach to expanding ICT software, hardware, device management and service solutions for continuous improvement
  • Ability to manage ICT infrastructure and equipment that develops student learning opportunities and ensures compliance with DET policies and procedures

  • Motivated and self-motivated - able to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Resourceful and able to find and research information to derive appropriate solutions to problems
  • A good communicator - able to clearly communicate using appropriate language to accommodate stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
