As a skilled professional in Radiation Oncology, you will be part of a dynamic team delivering best practice nursing services.

This role offers an opportunity to work with patients who require radiation therapy for various types of cancer.

Providing patient-centered care is at the forefront of our services, ensuring every individual receives the highest level of care and support throughout their treatment journey.

Our multidisciplinary team works together seamlessly to provide comprehensive care, from initial consultation to ongoing support post-treatment.

Key aspects of this position include:

Delivering high-quality patient care that meets their physical and psychological needs

Direct patient interaction, including education, wound management, and medication administration as per established protocols

Effective management of patient flow and communication with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions

Facilitating open lines of communication between doctors, patient services, physicists, and radiation therapists to share information and feedback regarding patient progress

Documentation and record-keeping are crucial to ensure continuity of care and inform future treatment plans

Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of clinical guidelines and protocols to deliver evidence-based care

Collaborating with colleagues to optimize patient outcomes and advance Radiation Oncology nursing standards

Ensuring adherence to ISBAR communication tool for effective handovers and allied health interactions

Embodying a culture of reliability, motivation, and flexibility to meet the evolving needs of patients and the service

Required skills and qualifications include:

A current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

A minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience (preferably in oncology)

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathize with patients and their families

Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex patient scenarios

Commitment to applying best practice principles and quality improvement initiatives

Continuing professional development to stay abreast of advances in Radiation Oncology nursing

Experience in wound care management would be advantageous
