About the Role

Zurich Insurance Group is seeking a highly skilled Medical Officer to join our team. As a Medical Officer, you will play a critical role in providing expert medical opinion to support mortality and morbidity assessments across both underwriting and claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical training programs to internal stakeholders, including medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pathology, and up-to-date clinical protocols.
  • Assist in the review of in-force medical definitions and support the design of new product-related medical definitions.
  • Support the provision of ongoing evidence-based health thought leadership newsletters and insights, both internally and externally.
  • Contribute to various health initiatives across customer and employee touchpoints, including the review and identification of new health technology.
Requirements
  • Qualified Medical Practitioner with up-to-date and ongoing registration in Australia.
  • Experience within the life insurance industry or health industry, focusing on the provision of mortality and morbidity medical opinions and insights.
  • Experience in designing and delivering medical training programs is preferable.
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills, with the ability to work with treating and academic medical professionals.
  • Knowledge within medical areas, critical illnesses, or specific health and wellbeing themes to support pricing and product initiatives.
  • Experience in working across a diverse team with exemplary stakeholder management skills.
