About this role


We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team at City Of Yarra. As a key member of our Information Security team, you will play a critical role in protecting our systems and data from cyber threats.


Key responsibilities



  • Conduct technical security risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations
  • Design and implement secure solutions for networking infrastructure, application layers, and cloud computing
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities
  • Develop and maintain security policies and procedures

Requirements



  • Degree or diploma in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, plus postgraduate qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, with a strong understanding of security standards and regulations
  • Certification in information security, such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CEH, SANS, or OSCP, is highly desirable
  • Experience with security tools, such as Firewalls, IPS/IDS, SIEM, and cloud platforms, such as Azure
  • Cybersecurity prowess, including knowledge of security encryption protocols and incident response
