Physiotherapist Specialist

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to provide specialist clinical service provision to clients with Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders across South Western Sydney Local Health District.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist physiotherapy clinical service provision to clients with Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders.
• Develop and evaluate clinical services, and apply advanced reasoning and clinical practice skills in the management of complex cases.
• Provide consultation and education to staff and students, and supervise and train Level 1/2 and 3 Physiotherapists, AHAs, and students.
• Build multidisciplinary relationships and work closely with Neurology departments to lead service design and development, and improve access to specialised care for clients with Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders.

What You'll Need

• Current Physiotherapy Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Extensive clinical specialty experience, including demonstrated advanced practice skills and management of a complex physiotherapy caseload.
• Demonstrated experience in providing clinical leadership, consultation, supervision, and education for staff and/or students.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and ability to implement evidence-based practice.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in the planning and implementation of quality improvement, research, and service development activities.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, and ability to build partnerships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team.
• Advanced level of clinical knowledge and expertise in the physiotherapy management of patients with Parkinson's Disease and other movement disorders.

Where You'll Be Working

Liverpool Hospital is a major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council, as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health, and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University, and also welcomes students from over 20 universities and colleges.
