We are seeking a highly skilled Demi Chef to join our dynamic team at a venue located on Victoria's beautiful Mornington Peninsula.

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and the ability to perform in a fast-paced kitchen, with a focus on managing day-to-day operations under the guidance of our experienced Head Chef.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Menu planning that meets the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  2. Estimating food and labour costs to ensure efficiency and profitability.
  3. Liaising with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients.
  4. Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
  5. Ensuring hygiene regulations are met to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  6. Freezing and preserving foods to optimize inventory and minimize waste.

Requirements:

  1. A minimum of 3 years experience in a commercial kitchen.
  2. A relevant Commercial Cookery qualification, including Cert IV and a Diploma of Hospitality.
  3. Sound cookery techniques and the ability to learn new ones.
  4. An ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  5. A positive, punctual, and professional approach.
  6. Familiarity with food safety and OHS guidelines.
  7. Attention to detail and competency with ordering and managing stock.
