Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Hitachi Construction Machinery. This role involves working on a variety of heavy machinery, including excavators and other construction equipment.



About the Role


This is a site-based position that requires working on a FIFO roster with both day and night shifts. As a Heavy Duty Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for providing timely and quality maintenance services to our customers. Your duties will include diagnosing and repairing faults in equipment, performing routine maintenance tasks, and ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.



Key Responsibilities



  • Diagnose and repair complex faults in heavy machinery, including excavators and other construction equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and filter replacements.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently, adhering to company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication with customers, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other technicians and support staff to achieve team goals and objectives.


Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A relevant trade qualification in diesel or plant mechanics, with experience working on heavy machinery.
  • A strong focus on safety, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks in the workplace.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of heavy machinery, including excavators and other construction equipment.
  • Good communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships with customers.
  • Holding High Risk Licences, including EWP, WAH, Dogging & Rigging.
