About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team at Australia Wide Engineering Recruitment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in operating Okuma machines and a minimum of 5 years of experience in setting up and programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform CNC programming/Mill Turn/Lathe applications (Okuma Multus)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine method and sequence of operations and machine settings required
  • Machine components to specification as per job sheet
  • Perform onsite machining to quality accredited management system standards
  • Work in line with strict OH&S standards

Requirements:

  • Experienced Okuma machinist with your skillset in Mill/Turn primarily on Okuma Multus machines.
  • A minimum of 5 years working autonomously setting up and programming.
  • CNC Machinist/Programmer with experience in Mill Turn/Lathe applications
  • Trade qualified Fitter & Turner with a minimum 5 years experience operating CNC machinery
  • Certificate 4 in Engineering CNC highly regarded
  • Previous experience using precision measuring equipment
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, manage work loads and be part of a team environment
  • Good mechanical aptitude and assembly skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

What We Offer:

Rate: $40 - $45 per hour, depending on skills and experience, plus super, plus overtime

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7.00am - 3.30pm, Friday 7.00am - 1.00pm
