We are seeking a highly skilled Mining Engineer to join our team at Gold Fields. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and optimal extraction of gold from underground mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement short-term schedules to meet operational targets
- Design stopes and drill and blast plans to minimize dilution and maximize recovery
- Develop and record mine information to ensure safe and economic target delivery
- Reconcile mined plan versus actual to identify improvement areas
- Interact with technical and operational mining teams to ensure goal unity through concise communication
- Identify risks and threats to safely achieve targets and develop programs to eliminate/minimize risks
- Communicate issues affecting safe and efficient production to the Senior Engineer
- Contribute to business and cultural improvement initiatives to enhance performance and growth
- Undertake additional responsibilities as reasonably requested by the Senior Engineer
Requirements:
- Qualifications in Mining Engineering
- Underground engineering experience with exposure to all production phases, preferably gold
- Completion of underground time
- WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency or ability to obtain
- Experience using Microsoft Office and mining software such as Deswik
- Valid Driver's License
