About the Role

This position is a key part of our Finance Team at the Fresh Produce Group, based at our Sydney Markets Head Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial analysis and reporting to provide accurate, relevant, and timely information to enable the business to make key operational and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Commercial Directors and Operational teams, providing financial insights, addressing queries, and supporting strategic decision-making with data-driven analysis.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, and end-of-season performance reports.
  • Assist Commercial Directors with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Complete the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations and preparation of monthly financial results for review with Commercial Directors.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive consistency across the business.
  • Prepare BAS returns, levy returns, Royalties, and other legislative requirements.
  • Participate in Finance team meetings and contribute to clear communication across the business to ensure alignment on financial goals and initiatives.
  • Assist the Finance Manager and the wider team with other ad-hoc duties as required.

About You

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant with excellent communication skills. The following are essential for success in this position:

  • 5 years' experience in a Commercial Finance role.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting (CPA/CA).
  • Profound knowledge of Accounting standards, statutory taxes, superannuation, payroll, etc.
  • Strong computer skills, ERP, and Microsoft Office (in particular Excel).
  • High attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel as required by the business.
  • Exposure to an FMCG environment (desirable).
  • Exposure to Netsuite (desirable).
