Key Accountabilities

This role involves:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and interventions in various settings to identify areas of strength and weakness.
  • Developing and implementing personalized therapy plans that cater to each child's unique needs and goals.
  • Collaborating with families, mainstream services, and other stakeholders to promote the child's development and participation in their community life.
  • Selecting, implementing, and monitoring assistive technology and mobility equipment prescriptions.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and a genuine passion for working with children with disabilities and their families.

Essential Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum Bachelor qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration or membership with relevant professional bodies.
  • A current driver's license and willingness to obtain necessary checks (NDIS Worker Screening Check, NSW Working with Children's Check, VIC Working with Children's Check).
  • An interest in or experience working with children with disabilities and their families, as well as an understanding of complex needs.
  • Knowledge of formal and standardized assessments, goal setting, and evidence-based therapy approaches.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, time management, and organizational abilities.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and high level of enthusiasm and positive attitude.
