Operator/Welder Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operator/Welder to join our team at Neumann Steel. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for constructing pile cages using tack welds and operating various machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Construct pile cages in accordance with customer specifications
  • Maintain and operate cage making machines, cranes, and welding equipment safely
  • Perform pre-start checks on machinery and ensure tags are scanned and attached to cages as required
  • Check product quality and ensure correct measurements
  • Follow expected work methods and wear correct PPE
  • Produce cages efficiently and safely
  • Conduct general housekeeping and report any faults to management
Requirements:
  • At least six months of previous welding experience
  • Basic MIG welding experience
  • Previous experience reading and interpreting basic drawings
  • Welding Ticket or Fitter Trade Certificate highly regarded
  • Previous experience working in the steel industry highly regarded
  • Forklift license desirable
