Key Responsibilities- Assess engine hazards and develop system safety constraints and control strategies
- Drive the development and validation of system requirements to ensure safety considerations are addressed
- Support early trade studies to drive design-for-system safety and reliability into the engine architecture
- Assess mission-specific risks and perform reliability analysis to identify design weaknesses
- Review and approve engineering changes from a system safety and reliability perspective
- Investigate incidents to identify root causes and develop corrective actions
- Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety cases and hazard logs
- BS in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, materials engineering, computer science, physics, or related technical discipline
- Proven track record of building trust and effective working relationships
- 5+ years of experience in system development, integration, or testing of aerospace products or complex electromechanical systems
- Proficient in system safety analysis techniques and tools
- Experience developing hazard reports and hazard tracking systems
- Experience working in a safety-critical environment
- Proven technical expertise with liquid rocket engines, test facilities, or space launch vehicles
- Knowledge of reliability engineering principles and practices
- Experience with reliability analysis and reliability modeling on software such as Minitab/Matlab/Saphire/Reliasoft/Ansys Sherlock
