Senior Policy Officer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Officer to join our team in Canberra. As a key member of our policy team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of key policy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and build relationships
  • Organise meetings and draft critical briefings for senior executives and the Minister
  • Develop and implement policy initiatives to support the achievement of government objectives
  • Provide high-level policy advice to senior executives and the Minister
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective policy implementation

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in policy development and implementation within the federal government
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to draft a range of documentation
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and liaise with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to manage own work flows
