Explosive Ordnance Specialist

The role of Quality Assurance Representative involves working on the domestic manufacture of explosive ordnance products used by the Australian Defence Force. The successful candidate will have a base knowledge of Explosive Ordnance production and sustainment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting audits and quality surveillance activities of manufacturing procedures, processes, and products.
- Interpreting specifications, drawings, and requirements to ensure the prime manufacturer complies with the product specification.
- Supporting investigations in cause and effect, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to verify manufacturing issues that affect quality are appropriately addressed.
- Understanding statistical sampling as related to specification requirements and having knowledge of defect control, treatment, and segregation.
- Interpreting statistical process control and implementation (control charts, UCL/LCL) to support production.
- Verifying lot acceptance tests are valid and interpreting results.
- Supporting the processing of deviations and variations to enable product acceptance or rejection.
The ideal candidate will have superior analytical skills, with motivation to support development of domestic manufacture of explosive ordnance. They will also have:
- Ability to integrate into a small team to achieve results in a collaborative and inclusive manner.
- Exemplar communication skills, with an ability to confidently influence and engage with stakeholders with diverse backgrounds and seniority.
- Passion for ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
- Ability to support complex certification activities, while maintaining integrity, and fostering a positive team culture.
