Job Summary:

Leidos is a leading technology, engineering, and science solutions company that provides critical services to government and commercial customers. We are seeking a Junior Cyber Security Analyst to join our team in Canberra, Australia.

About the Role:

This is a permanent role that requires the successful applicant to work on a rotating shift roster (typically 12 hour shifts) onsite at our facility in Canberra. As a Junior Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Analysis of security events from multiple sources, including security information and event management tools, network intrusion systems, and host-based intrusion prevention tools.
  • Monitoring and assessing emerging threats and vulnerabilities to the environment and ensuring those requiring action are addressed.
  • Security incident management, advice, and education, and maintaining the currency and health of deployed security tools.
  • Providing technical administration support for security software and hardware.
  • Producing contractual and stakeholder reports and reviewing, documenting, and improving processes to contribute to the overall security of the environment.

About You:

We are looking for a self-starting individual with a strong attitude, aptitude, and zeal to identify, take ownership of, and solve challenging problems. You will need to have:

  • Cyber Security or IT experience performing critical thinking tasks, troubleshooting endpoint or network issues.
  • Understanding of incident management and response and reviewing threat data from various sources.
  • Adept understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience reviewing raw log files, data correlation, and analysis (e.g., firewall, network, IDS, system logs).
  • Current ICT Security qualifications or working towards qualifications such as GSEC, GCIA, or CompTIA Security+
