This role is focused on empowering students at the National Aboriginal Sporting Chance Academy by enhancing school attendance and academic performance, fostering career development and work-readiness, and promoting cultural pride and identity through life skills, personal growth, and long-term resilience.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement programs in schools to ensure high levels of quality and student engagement.
- Build meaningful relationships with students, community members, and school staff to foster trust and understanding.
- Transport students as required, using daily bus pickups and drops offs to ensure safe and timely arrival and departure.
- Mentor and support First Nations students aged 12-18, providing guidance, encouragement, and hands-on assistance through workshops, in-class tutoring, and individualized support.
- Implement NASCA Life Skills and School Engagement activities, including cooking, creative arts, leadership, CV creation, goal setting, and job-readiness training.
- Provide healthy breakfasts for NASCA students, promoting nutritious eating habits and well-being.
- Organize physical education activities that incorporate Traditional Indigenous Games, fostering cultural exchange and appreciation.
- Coordinate after-school and weekend activities, excursions, and events, creating opportunities for socialization and skill-building.
- Foster community engagement through activities such as cultural exchange, partnership building, and collaborative event planning.
- Develop personalized learning pathways for NASCA students, tailoring educational plans to meet their unique needs and goals.
