We are seeking an experienced journalist who can deliver distinctive, relevant and impactful stories for a Queensland audience.

The successful candidate will have strong research skills, excellent editorial judgement; accomplished in newsgathering and story production. They should also possess strong digital news writing skills, experience working in a cross-platform filing environment, and strong networks, together with knowledge of major social, economic, political, and cultural issues.

About the Role

This role requires generating and contributing original story ideas, researching story material, identifying suitable sources, and arranging and conducting interviews to support own and others' output.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Write, compile and present accurate, concise and clear stories using a creative approach across platforms on a daily basis.
  • Proactively generate and contribute original story ideas to the discussion with newsroom teams.
  • Present live-to-air reports to a consistently high standard and participate in live Q&As.
