About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Strategy based in Sydney. This position offers excellent career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.

The Head of Strategy plays a critical role in shaping and driving the company's strategic direction. Responsibilities include initiating discussions on the company's mission, vision, and strategy; developing comprehensive models and strategy documents; and analyzing data to inform strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop corporate strategy by applying functional expertise to test its viability and contribute creative ideas and insights.
  • Create strategies that drive business growth, competitive advantage, and profit growth, ensuring the organization remains ahead of market trends and competitors.
  • Analyze and interpret data to draw conclusions about social, technological, economic, and political developments and their consequences for the company.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to develop constructive relationships and ensure their input is considered in strategic decisions.
  • Provide support in delivering strategic initiatives, ensuring projects align with overall strategic goals.
  • Monitor performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess progress and make necessary adjustments.
About You
  • A minimum of 15 years of work experience, preferably in top-tier management consulting and corporate in-house strategy.
  • Experience in Construction or Engineering preferred; alternatively, industrial goods experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field; an MBA is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex data and drawing meaningful insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks associated with strategic initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of the construction industry and market trends.
Estimated Salary Range: $180,000 - $250,000 per annumBenefits
