We are seeking an experienced Simulation Special Skills Fellow to join our Adult Emergency Department team at Auckland City Hospital.
Auckland City Hospital is one of the largest public hospitals in New Zealand and a leading trauma centre in the country. Our department is accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and affiliated with the University of Auckland, Schools of Medicine and Health Science.
We have a robust regular in-situ interdisciplinary weekly simulation programme with multiple simulation-based training sessions, run by dedicated doctors and nurses as part of the AuSIM group (Auckland Hospital Level 2 Simulation Programme). This position is available for a fixed period of 12 months.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing skills in clinical simulation and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care. As a Simulation Special Skills Fellow, you will work closely with our experienced team to design and deliver simulation-based training programmes.
You will have the opportunity to work on various national and international research projects and contribute to the development of new policies and procedures.
We offer a competitive salary of approximately $NZD 120,000 per year, plus benefits such as professional development opportunities and access to our staff services and wellness programmes.
This role requires a strong understanding of emergency medicine and simulation principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
To be eligible for this position, you must hold a relevant qualification in emergency medicine and be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
