Project Commercial Opportunity

In support of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Project Commercial Director to lead the commercial function of our exciting projects in Western Australia.

As the Project Commercial Director, you will be responsible for the overall commercial and risk management of the projects you are aligned to, working closely with the project team, Project Manager, and in conjunction with the Business Unit Commercial Manager as an integral part of the project delivery.

The project is an exciting infrastructure project in regional Western Australia, which has recently been recognized for its delivery and community involvement. We are seeking applications from capable and experienced Project Commercial Directors and senior commercial professionals who believe they are ready to take the next step in their career and manage the commercial function of a project.

The role will be Perth based with regular travel to the project site in North-West Western Australia.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage all cost and contractual matters, ensuring project costs, revenues, claims, and supplier agreements are administered.
  • Initiate, review, analyse, and plan the closing of contracts.
  • Work with all parties to ensure the best possible commercial outcome is achieved.
  • Maintain good working relationships with clients and subcontractors while negotiating and managing the head contract and subcontractors for the project.
  • Influence and lead others in the team to produce high-quality project outcomes.
  • Ensure that delivered products comply with contract specifications and record and report on any non-conformances.
  • Ensure that the project complies with Georgiou's HSEQ systems, policies, standards, and procedures.

About You

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Commercial Manager - Infrastructure who has previous experience within a sizeable infrastructure or civil construction and building construction business. You should have experience in delivering remote projects from either site or head office. You should have proven negotiation experience in high-value, commercial contracts. You should have project financial management experience. You should have demonstrated experience leading a project commercial function with direct reports. You should have risk management skills that encompass the development of commercial and risk profiles of complex projects. You should have a solid understanding of procurement management and process. You should have commercial acumen as it relates to the effective client and subcontractor management, work planning, and methodology, insurance risk, policies, and complex claims resolution. You should have a minimum of 8 years' experience in similar roles in the building and construction industry and current experience working in contracts management in the civil and/or building construction industry.
