Talent Right is working exclusively with MFI Automotive to find a Purchasing Specialist to join an existing purchasing and operations team. With over 35 years of expertise, MFI Automotive specialises in building Australia's most durable, efficient, and safe service bodies for commercial, emergency, and recreational needs. Known for innovation and robust designs, MFI supports clients with custom service bodies that meet high demands for corporate and trade use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers for automotive parts, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers to secure a steady supply of high-quality materials.
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing agreements with suppliers to maximise organisational value.
  • Manage supplier contracts to ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
  • Analyse costs and implement strategies to optimise procurement expenses while maintaining quality.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Engineering teams to ensure suppliers meet company standards.
  • Manage inventory levels to align with production schedules while minimising excess and obsolescence.
  • Identify risks in the supply chain and proactively resolve supplier-related issues.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with production goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree or relevant certification (CPSM, CSCP) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management within the automotive or similar industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with supplier management.
  • Knowledge of automotive industry standards and regulations, including ISO/TS 16949.
  • Proficiency in procurement and ERP software (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage supplier relationships.
