About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Chef to join our team at Compass Group Australia. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing our buffet-style bulk cooking operations, ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of chefs, kitchen utilities, and dining room employees to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the needs of our clients and employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, including OH&S and HACCP guidelines.
  • Manage catering controls, minimize wastage, and maintain high standards of food quality.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the catering team.
  • Collaborate with the client to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Ensure all kitchen procedures and operations are in line with Compass Group Australia's standards.

Requirements:

  • Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Head Chef or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of leading a team and delivering high-quality culinary experiences.
  • Experience in bulk catering environments and remote sites.
  • Excellent knowledge of kitchen procedures, operations, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to develop and implement menus, manage budgets, and control stock.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
