
Mental Health Specialist

Join a multi-disciplinary team working in schools to connect with students, staff, parents and the broader community.
This role provides services such as counselling, assessment and intervention, focusing on students' mental health and wellbeing.
- Counselling and therapeutic interventions with students, parents and families
- Administering assessments of cognitive, academic, behavioural, emotional, social and adaptive functioning
- Coordinating professional development training for teachers, parents, schools and other professionals in supporting students' mental health and wellbeing
- Monitoring students' progress and managing diagnoses from external providers
- Supporting school communities to respond to critical incidents and providing counselling and support to affected students
- Identifying needs and participating in referrals, coordination and planning of services for children, parents and families with other stakeholders
The successful applicant will work closely with classroom teachers and families to ensure each student has the opportunity to thrive. They will foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment and be part of a diverse, cohesive and committed team of educators and staff.

Key Responsibilities:- Working collaboratively with students, staff, parents and the broader community
- Delivering high-quality counselling and therapeutic interventions
- Providing specialist advice and support to students, staff and parents
- Monitoring students' progress and managing diagnoses from external providers
- Participating in referrals, coordination and planning of services for children, parents and families
- Degree in Psychology or related field
- Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
- Provisional or general registered psychologist
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
