Radiation Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Rockhampton Clinic on a Full Time Basis. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse provides specialized and high-quality clinical care, education, and support to patients undergoing radiation treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Comprehensive patient assessment on admission to the service and as required throughout their treatment journey
- Education on management of side effects for patients and their carers
- Coordination of care including facilitating effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physicists, and radiation therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Acting as a patient advocate ensuring patient needs are addressed
- Ensuring all patient interaction is documented, communicated, and actioned
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Sound clinical experience and competence as a registered nurse
- Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carers
- Demonstrated clinical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to plan and coordinate the clinical management of care
- Commitment to and involvement in the application of quality improvement and evidence-based practice principles
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team member
- Demonstrate reliability, motivation, and flexibility
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience in the field of oncology working with a variety of patients desirable but not essential. Training in radiation oncology nursing will be provided
- Working with a small nursing team providing the best patient experience possible
