Offshore Calibration Technician

Fugro Australia Marine Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Offshore Calibration Technician to join our team in Perth. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our geotechnical and survey equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of offshore geotechnical and survey test equipment, including Cone Penetrometer Tests (CPT), piston corers, box corers, winches, hydraulic power units, and hydrographic and marine geophysics survey equipment.
- Conduct fault-finding and repairs of field-serviceable equipment, and fabricate and modify equipment as needed to meet critical business needs and QHSSE standards.
- Install and operate geotechnical survey equipment on vessels of opportunity and dedicated geotechnical survey vessels, and conduct drilling to gather samples for laboratory tests and analyses.
- Participate in and conduct offshore geotechnical surveys, including assistance with deck layout planning and input into risk assessments.
- Install and configure hydrographic and marine geophysics survey software packages, and operate survey equipment and software to acquire data under supervision.
- Maintain accurate logs of operations and survey parameters, and ensure compliance with QHSSE policies, standards, and procedures.
- Diploma or equivalent trade qualification in Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electronics, or Communications engineering.
- Competent with electronic and hydraulic fault diagnostics and repairs.
- Basic understanding of marine acoustics, geophysics, geology, positioning, and marine operations.
- Cone Penetrometer Tests (CPT) and/or geotechnical drilling equipment experience.
- Computer literacy and aptitude for learning new software, and experience with common Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to obtain offshore survival course and pass associated medical exam.
- Willingness to work offshore for periods of time.
- Self-motivated with ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
