The Role of a Food Service Assistant

In Infinite Aged Care, our team members play a vital role in meeting residents' daily needs. The Food Service Assistant works as part of the Hotel Services team, reporting to the Head Chef. This role involves various activities including food preparation and service, in-room dining, and ensuring dining areas are clean and ready for service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Prepare, plate, and serve meals to residents in a safe and timely manner.
  • Clean kitchen and dining room areas, including equipment, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
  • Ensure each dining experience is enjoyable and memorable for elderly residents.

This role requires excellent physical abilities, including bending, squatting, lifting, and pushing items to carry out tasks safely. It's essential to perform these tasks without risk of injury to yourself, colleagues, or residents.

About You
  • A minimum of 6 months of kitchen experience, preferably in aged care.
  • Strong workplace safety skills, ability to follow set procedures, and be an effective communicator.
  • Support residents around dining halls and ensure a safe environment.
  • Ability to problem solve, work with minimal supervision, and think critically.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Hardworking, flexible, and available to cover shifts.
