About This Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Network Specialist to join our team at Western Power.

As an Electrical Network Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining electrical networks. Your primary objective will be to ensure that our network is efficient, reliable, and safe for our customers.

This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary of $110,000 per annum, plus 11% superannuation, providing a total remuneration package of $121,100 per year.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing accurate estimates for projects encompassing materials, labor, sub-contract services, and costing for work associated with construction activities and commissioning on single/basic circuits and associated apparatus or services.
  • Completing all documentation, ordering of materials, entering, and maintaining information in applicable computer systems, ensuring business processes are adhered to.
  • Undertaking contract administration to ensure contractor compliance to design and specifications and identify non-conformances of contractors; review designs, work performance, works programs.
  • Responding to correspondence and queries raised by customers, construction, and maintenance crews, and other stakeholders on quotes issued via DQM.
  • Ensuring all variations to projects, procedures, programs, and processes are documented.
  • Preparing management reports for submission to the Team Leader.
  • Scheduling and planning own daily and weekly allocated work in order to meet agreed targets.
  • Providing technical support to project management plans and other work groups.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A diploma or advanced diploma in a relevant electrical discipline.
  • At least 6 to 7 years' post-qualification experience in distribution network-related activities with a thorough knowledge of principles of the relevant discipline and a sound understanding of methods and practices.
  • Knowledge of Distribution Engineering standards, regulations, and procedures applicable to the Section and Stream.
  • Sound IT skills in required programs and systems.
  • The ability to complete projects/assignments within specific guidelines.
  • Demonstrated skill in priority setting, activity planning, and organizing.
  • Demonstrated skills in problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Skills in developing and maintaining work standards.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and conflict-resolving skills.
  • The ability to identify and develop methods, processes, and systems for continuous improvement.
