About the Opportunity

Due to an increasing portfolio of work, a talented senior legal expert is required to fill a newly created position. You will lead high-impact projects that challenge your legal and commercial acumen while partnering closely with the business.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the drafting, negotiation, and management of complex commercial agreements including build-own-operate (BOO) contracts with major clients, connections, and services.
  • Provide essential legal support for the development, structuring, and delivery of energy connection and storage infrastructure projects, covering project finance, risk allocation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Offer expert advice on the commercial application of legislation (NEM) and market participation agreements, navigating the energy regulatory landscape.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and commercial risks across projects and partnerships within a dynamic market environment.
Requirements

This role will suit someone looking to move in-house or already working in-house with good exposure to the energy sector. The successful individual will possess:

  • A minimum of 8 years PQE.
  • Experience in connection agreements and regulatory matters.
  • Superior communication, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • A proactive, solution-focused, and pragmatic mindset.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
