Role Overview:

MacKillop Family Services is seeking a dedicated Child Welfare Specialist to join our Canberra team. As the Residential Care Coordinator, you will lead and support House Supervisors and Residential Care staff in delivering high-quality care based on therapeutic and trauma-informed principles.

About the Role:

This permanent role is based in Canberra and reports to the Regional Manager. Key responsibilities include ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement in service delivery.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field, or extensive experience with a qualification in Youth Work, Welfare, or a similar discipline.
  • Proven experience in child protection, child welfare, or a related field.
  • Strong networking skills with Community Service Organisations and Government agencies.
  • Excellent teamwork, initiative, and decision-making skills.
