About the Role

Bendigo Kangan Institute is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our Mumgu Dhal Cultural Program team at Fulham Correctional Centre. As a key member of our Corrections team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander men in a range of settings, including classrooms and residential units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, facilitate, and evaluate teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students.
  • Develop assessment tools and support planning and evaluation in custodial settings.
  • Contribute to the development of culturally responsive teaching practices that respect and value the cultural heritage of our students.
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or (TAE40110) including Design & Develop Assessment tools (TAEASS502 or TAEASS502A or TAEASS502B) and address Adult language, literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) skills (TAELLN411 or TAELLN401A).
  • Relevant vocational qualification and/or competencies at least to the level to be delivered and assessed.
  • An understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Island culture that will provide students with the capability to investigate Australian Indigenous culture and history and its impact on current events.
