Job Title: Enterprise Messaging Specialist

This role involves administering enterprise messaging software, ensuring seamless communication between systems. Key responsibilities include configuring and maintaining messaging objects, queues, channels, topics, listeners, and queue managers.

Messaging security is also crucial, with a focus on implementing and managing SSL/TLS protocols, user IDs, and channel authentication. Performance monitoring and tuning using tools like MQ Explorer or custom scripts are equally important.

Additionally, the specialist will integrate messaging with other middleware platforms, such as IBM Integration Bus, Apache Camel, or MuleSoft. Automation of routine administrative tasks through scripting in Shell, Perl, or Python is also required.

Collaboration with development and application teams to design messaging architectures and best practices is essential.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Administering enterprise messaging software
  • Configuring and maintaining messaging objects, queues, channels, topics, listeners, and queue managers
  • Implementing and managing messaging security (SSL/TLS, user IDs, channel authentication)
  • Monitoring and tuning messaging performance using tools like MQ Explorer or custom scripts
  • Integrating messaging with other middleware platforms
  • Developing and maintaining automation scripts for routine administrative tasks
  • Collaborating with development and application teams to design messaging architectures and best practices
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience administering enterprise messaging software
  • Deep understanding of messaging patterns (point-to-point, pub-sub)
  • Experience configuring messaging clustering, multi-instance queue managers, and distributed queuing
  • Proficiency in scripting (Shell, Perl, or Python) for automation
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., MQ Explorer, Tivoli, Prometheus/Grafana)
  • Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificates and messaging channel security
  • Understanding of networking concepts relevant to messaging (TCP/IP, ports, firewalls)
