Job Title: Clinical Teacher

About the Role

This position will provide support and supervision to undergraduate nursing students within a hospital environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct clinical support and instructions, helping students develop their learning and confidence, and assessing students against their standards of practice.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Facilitating clinical workplace experience at the bedside with the student while participating in patient and client care.
  • Liaising with the Clinical Placement Co-ordinator & Early Career Lead in relation to student placements, rostering of students, and the recording of data on PlaceRight.
  • Coordinating and managing the allocated student roster to maintain a current, accurate database of information.
  • Collating and writing reports using accurate performance criteria as required in relation to the student placement, including formative and summative assessments and mid and final placement feedback.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in nursing practice and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency as a Registered Nurse.
  • A tertiary qualification in the field of adult education and/or Cert IV in TAE or working towards.
  • An understanding of education frameworks including Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment.
  • Experience working within the healthcare setting, with a well-developed understanding of all clinical areas, disciplines and the ability to develop and maintain internal and external partnerships.
  • An understanding of administration and clinical workflows as they relate to the learners on placement.
  • Well-developed IT skills, written and verbal skills.
